Meet the Co-Founders

  • Kristin Nave

Kristin Nave is a daughter of God living in Southern California with her wonderful husband of 19 years and 11-year-old daughter. After obtaining a Master’s in School Psychology she worked as a psychologist for the public school system before her favorite career as a mom. Kristin is passionate about the church and has both worked and volunteered for a variety of ministries including ministry to women, apologetics, discipleship and leadership training, global missions, and special needs. She has written Bible studies and officially published a study on Habakkuk, “Wrestling to Trust”, and a study on Zephaniah, “Hidden in Him.” Kristin loves teaching the Bible at her local church, and she has been a guest speaker at various women’s retreats and events. Kristin has tasted and seen the goodness of the Lord in the mundane and through deep trials, such as losing 9 babies in the womb and one through adoption loss. Because of seeing God work so redemptively throughout her life she is passionate about helping others apply God’s word to their life in all areas, where she believes true freedom comes from. It is also because of her love for the word of God and theology that she attended seminary, obtaining a Master’s in Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute. One of her favorite life verses resides in Isaiah 40:8, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever”.

  • Shannon Sergey

Shannon Sergey is a Southern California born follower of the creator and King of the universe. She has been featured in numerous newspapers, podcasts, talk shows and radio shows as a leader and advocate for the rescue and forever freedom of trafficked youth here in the United States and overseas. She currently serves as the CEO and Founder of the anti-human trafficking organization, Forever Found, and as the Co-Founder of Abiding Free Ministries. As both a speaker, writer, and leader in the local church, Shannon’s heart is to boldly speak the life-giving truth that it is in a daily relationship with Jesus that true freedom is found, in all of life’s circumstances. She has seen this in her own life walking through significant chronic illness and traumas, all of which God has used to drawn her closer to the arms of her savior. Shannon studied Theology at Oxford University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism with a minor in Philosophy from Azusa Pacific University. She loves her primary ministry as homemaker and mother to four passionate children, and the adoring (though many times sarcastic) wife to her childhood sweetheart and husband Taylor. She lives each day to hear “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” Matthew 25:23.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

BIBLE

The BIBLE is divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit  and  written by  man,  and  is inerrant and authoritative in  its  teaching and revelation of God Himself. The entirety of Scripture is completely trustworthy and the foundation of all Christian living and faith.

GOD  THE FATHER

There is one true God expressed in the personhood of the trinity, the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. Though each having distinct and personal attributes, the trinity has no division in  its  being or essence.

GOD THE SON

Jesus Christ in the Son of God, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a perfect and sinless life as fully human and fully God. Through his substitutionary death on the cross, He made the complete provision for the redemption of man from sin. Through Jesus’s atonement  alone is salvation offered.

GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is fully divine, exalting Christ as He points to the Father in all that He does. The Holy Spirit empowers every believer to live a godly live, through the conviction of sin and the enlightenment of His word.

SALVATION

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and salvation is freely offered to all who repent and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
